The Monster in the Dark

The Kingdom of Darkness
has a secret place
where the monster goes,
hidden away less its presence
reveal what is unrevealed.
Locked and sealed behind
an unpenetrable door
only the master has the key
to its dark cell of terror.
The tribe will defend its presence
at all costs, for any reason —
for the kingdom of lies
is built with a facade of goodness,
to cover the truth which lies within.
If the light is at hand —
the one who sees the truth
is forever banned
from the presence of the damned.
